On the two days of the mega block, from June 1 to June 2, 2024, Central Railway (CR) undertook significant non-interlocking work starting at 12:30 am on Friday. This project involved the extension of platforms 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) as part of the station’s comprehensive remodelling.
Labourers worked tirelessly to extend platforms 10 and 11 to accommodate 24-coach trains during the 36-hour Mega Block. This critical task was executed under Work Tender No. LCF/DR/OHE/CSMT/680/2020/02, which included the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 25KV AC OHE in connection with the extension of platforms 10, 11, 12, and 13 at CSMT in Mumbai Division of Central Railway.
A big shoutout toward team of Leena Electro Mechanical Pvt Ltd for managing all electrical OHE modifications. Thanks to their expertise, CSMT station can now handle the upgrade from 8-coach to 22-coach trains.
